Every year in November there is held local Lukusi Festival celebrated by the people of “Ve” of Volta Region. It has historic and dramatic story behind its celebration and is one of the most popular and important festivals in Ghana.
Hohoe is the nearest town, where we usually go for shopping (Monday and Thursday are market days). Ho, the capital of Volta Region is about one and half hours drive from Golokwati. Kpando and Hohoe are about twenty minutes away from Golokwati. Golokwati is located on the N2 road, the main north-south highway in the eastern part of the country (from Tema to Burkina Faso border).
Our major means of transport is ”tro- tro’, a mini-bus. You can pick up ‘tro-tro’ by the roadside to surrounding cities, towns and villages at affordable fare.
